MORE THAN WORDS PROGRAM - ORIENTATION SESSIONS:
For Children with Down syndrome and Autism or Social Communication Difficulties.
We are thrilled to be running the Hanen ‘More Than Words’ program exclusivley for parents and carers of children with Down syndrome.
The ‘More Than Words’ program is an evidence-based, 12-week parent training course which focuses on building skills through daily routines. It is run by specialist speech and language therapists in small group sessions and includes 1:1 video feedback sessions to enhance interaction.
This unique programme was developed by expert speech-language pathologists at The Hanen Centre. More Than Words is offered to parents around the world by Hanen Certified Speech-Language Pathologists/Therapists who have received specialised training from The Hanen Centre.
As a parent, one of the greatest gifts you can give your child is the help he or she needs to communicate and connect with the world. In the More Than Words Programme, you learn practical and powerful strategies to help your child communicate and interact during everyday routines and activities. It is within these familiar and repetitive interactions that your child’s communication skills will grow.
Key Information:
For parents of preschool and lower primary-aged children with Down syndrome and autism* or cognitive delay. *(or if autism is suspected)
Focus Areas: Social communication, identifying child motivations, communication confidence, and daily interaction strategies.
Delivery: The program will be delivered online by specialist speech and language therapists.
Structure: Includes 12 sessions held online on Fridays from 12-2.30pm plus extra 1:1 video feedback sessions with therapist.

The average cost of this course is £1000 per family. We are offering our course specifically for children with Down syndrome for £500 per family.
